The troops of the Nigerian Army have reportedly recovered 14 bodies of the soldiers killed in an ambush at Okuoma community in the Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State.
The military operatives are under the supervision of the General Officer Commanding 6 Division of the Nigerian Army, Major General Jamal Abdussalam.
It was gathered some of the recovered bodies of the killed soldiers were beheaded while the stomachs and hearts of others were ripped off.
The bodies of the Commanding Officer and two Majors killed by the members of the community were found floating by the River bank as others were separated and found on land at the NDDC jetty in the coastal Delta community, according to Channels Television.
It was further learnt that the entire communities in Bomadi and Ughelli South Local Government Areas of Delta State had been totally cordoned off by the operatives of the 6 Division of the Nigerian Army, Port Harcourt in Rivers State that also oversees the 63 Brigade in Asaba, the Delta State capital.

The Star had reported that a Commanding Officer, two Majors, one Captain, and 12 soldiers were killed during a communal clash in the community.
The military personnel were killed while responding to a distress call during a clash between Okuoma and Okoloba communities in Delta State on Thursday, March 14.
President Bola Tinubu, on Sunday, declared that those responsible for the killing of the 16 soldiers will not go unpunished.
President Tinubu, who described the killing of the soldiers as a wicket act, said any attack on the military personnel is a direct attack on the nation.
The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Chris Musa, has also ordered an investigation into the killings of the 16 soldiers.
