Troops of the Nigerian Army have rescued a kidnapped clergyman, Reverend Ephraim Yakubu, during a clearance operation in the Miango area of Bassa Local Government Area, Plateau State.
Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the reverend was abducted on December 3, 2025, in front of his home at Agingi Village along Rukuba Road.
The troops, who were on patrol around the high grounds in the Miango axis, engaged the kidnappers at about 7:40 a.m. on December 4, forcing the suspects to abandon their victim and flee.
Reverend Yakubu was discovered tied beneath a rock and was found to have sustained injuries while in captivity.
He was immediately evacuated to the 3 Division Military Specialist Hospital (3DMSH) for treatment.
The troops recovered a fabricated rifle and a magazine loaded with eight rounds of 9mm ammunition from the scene.
Military authorities say efforts are ongoing to track down and arrest the fleeing criminals.
