The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has extended its ongoing strike.
ASUU made this known after its National Executive Council meeting at the union’s headquarters at the University of Abuja on Monday.
The union embarked on strike on February 14 demanding a renegotiation of agreements reached between it and the Federal Government in 2009.
It is also demanding that government should shelve the payment of members’ salaries using its Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) through which it pays its employees.
ASUU is asking the government to instead adopt the union’s payment platform option, the University Transparency and Accountability Solution (UTAS).
