Former Vice-President and presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has chided the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, over claims that the party has gained popularity ahead of the 2023 general election.
Atiku, who said the acclaimed popularity by the Labour Party was put to test in the just concluded governorship election in Osun State, said 90 per cent of voters in the North are not on social media.
The PDP presidential candidate further expressed confidence that he would emerge victorious in the 2023 presidential election, adding that he wasn’t worried about votes for the PDP in the Southern part of the country in 2023.
Atiku made this known in an exclusive interview with Arise TV on Friday.
The former Vice-President stated that Obi does not have a structure to make any meaningful impact in the 2023 presidential election, saying: “You can’t win election on social media.
“It is difficult to expect any miracle on the LP and Peter Obi.

“I don’t think LP will take much votes from PDP. The party has no structure. They don’t have a governor, senator or LG chairman. It is difficult to expect a miracle that will make LP win.
“Politics in this country depends on the structures you have at the various levels; the local government level, at the state level, and at the national level.
“Although during the Osun State election they said they have one million votes via social media but what have they got in the election?
“And again, you’re talking about social media. In the North, 90 percent of our people are not tuned to social media,” Atiku stated.
