The African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, says he has evidence to support his assertion that President Bola Tinubu is 90 years old, saying he would present it in court.
Atiku said this during an interview with the BBC while responding to questions about his own age and repeated bids for the presidency.
The former vice president said: “I have a president who is 90 years old now, and who is sick. I am healthy; I am strong. So why would I not make my services available to my fellow countrymen?
“I have evidence that he is, and I will present it in court.”
Tinubu’s publicly available biography states that he was born on March 29, 1952, making him 74 years old. Atiku did not provide any evidence during the interview to support his claim.
Defending his decision to contest the presidency again, Atiku said his political journey had been marked by repeated setbacks, insisting it was his constitutional right to seek elective office.

Atiku recalled contesting for governor four times during Nigeria’s military transition to democracy, alleging that he was repeatedly disqualified because of his opposition to military rule.
“I’ve never found anything easy in my life. There is nothing new there. So because I’m contesting the presidency two or three times, that’s not anything unusual in my political life,” the ADC candidate said.
He maintained that his experience, competence, and patriotism qualified him to lead the country.
