An autopsy report on late Nollywood actor and skit maker, Odira Nwobu, has revealed that he died from poisoning, weeks after his sudden death in South Africa.
Odira passed away while on vacation in South Africa, where he had travelled with friends.
At the time of his death, reports attributed the cause to high blood pressure, a claim that shocked fans due to the suddenness of the incident.
However, new information circulating online indicates that an autopsy was conducted, with findings reportedly confirming poisoning as the cause of death.
The revelation has triggered widespread reactions and raised fresh questions surrounding the circumstances of his passing.
Confirming the development, Odira’s director, Arthur Scott, stated that the autopsy report making the rounds is authentic.
He admitted that the outcome has left many confused.
“We are yet to get the full report, but all of this is confusing because we can’t understand how he was poisoned,” Scott said.
Following the actor’s death, South African security agencies had reportedly initiated plans for an investigation, ordering an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
Authorities are yet to release full details of their findings.
The autopsy report has continued to generate reactions online, with some fans suggesting that the actor may have been at risk even before embarking on the trip.
Others have argued that poisoning does not necessarily imply foul play, noting that it could result from substances his body reacted adversely to.
Many supporters have called on Odira’s management and family to seek clarity on the nature and source of the poisoning.
Meanwhile, earlier accusations directed at his friends—particularly claims that he went on a roller coaster ride despite alleged health issues—have resurfaced following the new revelation.
More details are expected as investigations continue.
