Nigerian music sensation and Grammy nominee Ayra Starr has been announced as one of the headliners for the Afronation Festival set to take place in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, from November 7–9, 2025.
The 22-year-old Afrobeats star will share the stage with American rapper Sexy Redd and South African DJ and producer DJ Maphorisa, alongside other prominent acts including Shallipopi and Ruger.
Ayra Starr’s inclusion as a headliner comes amid a whirlwind year for the rising global icon.
In 2025, she has graced multiple international stages, including headlining sets at the St. Kitts Music Festival and the Canadian Jazz Festival.
She also joined Coldplay as a supporting act on their Music of the Spheres World Tour, further cementing her global appeal.
Her achievements this year extend beyond the stage.
Ayra Starr won Best International Act at the 2025 BET Awards, becoming the second African female artist to do so after Tems’ historic win in 2022.
She also made history at the MOBO Awards, winning two major categories, and added another Headies Award to her growing collection for Best R&B Single with “Last Heartbreak Song” featuring Giveon.
In a landmark digital milestone, Ayra Starr became the first Nigerian female artist to surpass 1 billion views on YouTube, solidifying her status as one of Africa’s most successful and influential music exports.
