Ayra Starr: Why Wizkid is ‘always sick’ of me

Nigerian music sensation Ayra Starr has opened up about her playful friendship with Grammy-winning superstar Wizkid, revealing he’s “always sick” of her because she constantly tries to make him laugh.

Speaking during an interview on the eTalk show, Ayra praised Wizkid not just as an iconic artist but also as a hilarious and supportive friend.

“Wizkid is an amazing friend and an amazing person to be around,” she said.

“He’s hilarious, and we have the same sense of humor, so he’s always sick of me because I’m always trying to make him laugh.”

The ‘Rush’ hitmaker recalled being extremely nervous during their first studio session, overwhelmed by Wizkid’s legendary presence.

But with time, she said, their bond has grown stronger, and she now appreciates his laid-back and humorous personality.

“During my first session, I was panicking because it was Wizkid.

“But now we’ve done a music video together, and I’m older. He’s always telling me how much I’ve grown,” she shared.

“He’s such an icon, and working with him shows how amazing I am as well — I had to sneak that in.”

The duo recently collaborated on the fan-favorite track “Gimme Dat,” further cementing their musical chemistry.
