Niger State Governor Mohammed Bago has approved the immediate dissolution of the state Universal Basic Education Board (NSUBEB).
The Secretary to the State Government, Abubakar Usman, announced this in a statement on Friday, November 7, 2025.
Usman said the decision was part of the Bago administration’s ongoing efforts to reposition and strengthen the education sector for enhanced efficiency, accountability, and improved service delivery.

He quoted the governor as directing members of the dissolved Board, including the Secretary, to hand over all official documents, assets, and responsibilities of the Board to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education.
Bago expressed appreciation to the outgoing board members for their service and contributions to the growth and development of basic education in Niger State and wished them success in their future endeavors.
