Notorious bandit kingpin, Ado Aleru, has allegedly executed seven of his fighters in Zamfara State over suspicions of betrayal.
Sources revealed that the incident occurred in villages around Takulawa, Turba, Bamamu, and the Yamma forest axis.
Aleru reportedly accused the fighters of carrying out unauthorised kidnappings along the Gusau–Yankara highway, which he considered a direct challenge to his authority.
“He personally killed them after confirming their involvement in the abductions.
He feared their activities were attracting increased attention from security agencies,” one source disclosed.
The development has sparked fear and unease among his remaining loyalists, who interpret the executions as a sign of deepening mistrust within the group.
Ado Aleru, previously declared wanted by the Federal Government, has been linked to numerous cases of kidnapping, killings, and cattle rustling across Zamfara, Katsina, and Sokoto States.
Despite his violent record, he has also been in talks with the Federal Government’s peace committee on efforts to end hostilities in the North West.
