Bandits have kidnapped a former Nigeria Customs Service officer and killed one person in Ora-Igbomina, Ifedayo Local Government Area of Osun State.
It was gathered that the incident occurred at about 7 p.m. on Monday, December 15, 2025.
Confirming the incident on Tuesday, the Inurin of Ora‑Igbomina, Sunday Fadipe, said the bandits, on arriving in the town, went straight to the residence of the former Customs officer and abducted him.
Fadipe disclosed that the victim was returning home when the bandits, who had set an ambush at his house, abducted him.
Fadipe said the gunmen, while trying to escape through farmland in Akisa Area, saw a man working on his farm with a headlamp and shot him dead.

He added that the deceased’s 10‑year‑old son, who was with him at the time of the incident, came to town to report the matter.
Fadipe said the police had been informed about the incident and they are on the trail of the gunmen.
Fadipe, however, called on the government to provide more security for the town, revealing that Ora‑Igbomina shares a boundary with Ekiti and Kwara States.
The Osun State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, also confirmed the incident.
Ojelabi said the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in the town had visited the residence of the abducted Customs officer to get more details.
