Bandits attack Abuja estate, kidnap residents

Bandits have abducted a yet-to-be-identified number of residents following an attack on Gwarinpa Estate in Abuja.

It was gathered that the attack occurred at about 4am on Monday.

A resident, who simply identified himself as Mohammed, disclosed that the bandits gained access to Genuine Estate after Efab Queens on 6th Avenue, Gwarinpa and abducted the residents.

Mohammed said the assailants were armed with dangerous weapons including bows, arrows, and machetes.

The incident was confirmed by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Josephine Adeh.

Adeh, however, said the incident was a robbery case and not a kidnapping case, adding that the police had already been mobilised to the scene of the attack to ascertain how the incident occurred.

The police spokesperson promised to provide more details on the incident.
