Bandits kill 4, abandon kidnapped victims in Kaduna

Bandits have killed no fewer than four persons and injured four others at Uguwan Dankali in the Zaria Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, who confirmed the incident on Sunday, disclosed that it occurred on Friday, October 6, 2023.

Hassan stated upon receiving a distress call, a joint response team of the police, the military, and the Civilian Joint Task Force went in pursuit of the bandits.

He noted that in the gun duel that ensued, the gunmen abandoned five victims they already kidnapped.

“The victims were immediately rescued and conveyed to the hospital alongside the injured,” the police spokesman added.

He said the police had arrested one of the assailants, noting that the suspect was nabbed with several military woodland camouflage wears.

Hassan stated that an investigation had since commenced, saying efforts were being intensified to arrest other fleeing bandits.

Hassan added that the Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, Musa Garba, had commiserated with the families of those who lost their lives to the attack.
