Bandits have released 100 schoolchildren abducted from St. Mary’s Private Catholic Primary and Secondary School in Papiri, Agwara Local Government Area of Niger State.
It was gathered that the schoolchildren were released by bandits on Sunday, December 7, 2025, two weeks after their abduction.
Security sources confirmed that the schoolchildren have been released and are safe.

Details of the release are expected to be made public by the government on Monday.
Bandits invaded the school at about 2:00 a.m. on November 21, taking away 315 persons – 303 students and 12 teachers.
50 pupils later escaped within the first 24 hours, while 265 abductees, including all 12 teachers, remained in captivity until the latest development.
