Bayelsa deputy gov hospitalised after slumping in office

Bayelsa State Deputy Governor Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo has been hospitalised after he reportedly collapsed in his office in Yenagoa, the state capital.

It was gathered that the deputy governor, who slumped in his office at about 1:30 p.m., was immediately rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Yenagoa on Thursday, December 11, 2025.

Witnesses at the scene disclosed that Ewhrudjakpo appeared to be in serious condition as he was moved into the hospital’s emergency department.

Hospital sources confirmed that Ewhrudjakpo has since been stabilised and is receiving care in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

The deputy governor’s media aide, Doubara Atasi confirmed the development but declined to give details.
