The national grid has suffered a new total system collapse.
Electricity distribution companies (DisCos), in different notices to customers, stated that the national grid collapsed at about 12.40 a.m. on Thursday, September 14, 2023.
This is the first time the national grid will collapse in 2023.
The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC), in a statement by its Head of Corporate Communications, Emeka Ezeh, said the situation led to the loss of supply currently being experienced across South-East.

Ezeh stated: “Due to this development, all our interface Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) Stations are out of supply.
“We are unable to provide service to our customers in Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo states.
“We are on standby awaiting detailed information of the collapse and restoration of supply from the National Control Centre (NCC), Osogbo.”
Also speaking, the TCN spokesperson, Ndidi Mbah, said “we are trying to restore it”.
