The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has discredited a fake recruitment letter circulating on social media, warning the public to remain vigilant against fraudsters spreading false information.
In a statement issued Tuesday in Abuja, the Board’s Secretary, Maj.-Gen. A.M. Jibril (Rtd), clarified that while President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the recruitment of 30,150 personnel into various paramilitary services and 209 into the CDCFIB Secretariat, the official recruitment process has not yet commenced.
Jibril explained that the Board is currently seeking a waiver to shorten the mandatory six-week public notice period to three weeks, after which advertisements will be placed in credible national newspapers.
“For clarity, any recruitment by the Board will be publicly announced through trusted media outlets and will be transparent, merit-based, and completely free of charge,” Jibril emphasized.
The approved recruitment breakdown includes 10,000 personnel each for the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) and the Federal Fire Service (FFS), 5,150 for the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), 5,000 for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and 209 for the CDCFIB Secretariat.
The Board cautioned job seekers to avoid falling victim to fraudsters and urged the public to report any suspicious activities or individuals demanding payment for employment.
Reaffirming its stance, the CDCFIB reiterated its commitment to fair and transparent recruitment in line with due process and national equity.
