Gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram terrorists have many residents of Mafa in the Tarmuwa Local Government Area of Yobe State.
It was gathered that the terrorists also razed several houses in Mafa during an attack on the village at about 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 1, 2024.
The Yobe State Police Public Relations Officer, Dungus Abdulkarim, confirmed the incident on Monday, September 2.
Abdulkarim disclosed that a resident of Mafa, Adamu Hassan, reported the attack to the Tarmuwa Divisional Police Station.

“The terrorists killed many people but we are yet to ascertain the actual number of the casualties,” he said.
The police spokesman added that the terrorists also dropped some fliers with Arabic inscriptions.
Mafa is close to Shekau, the home town of the late Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau.
The Boko Haram terrorists had, on Friday, August 30, attacked a private school in neighbouring Geidam, killed three students, and injured one.
