Zulum

In response to the recent resurgence of Boko Haram activities, Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum has declared every Monday a day of fasting and prayer.

The initiative is aimed at seeking divine intervention and reinforcing local efforts to restore peace in the state.

Zulum also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening community-based security frameworks.

These include the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), local hunters, and vigilante groups, which have played a critical role in combating insurgency across the region.

“We will enhance community intelligence gathering and early warning systems,” Zulum said, issuing a strong warning against individuals or communities collaborating with armed groups.

“Anyone found aiding these terrorists is an enemy of us all.”

He extended his condolences to the Nigerian Armed Forces over the recent loss of personnel in the line of duty and offered prayers for the bereaved families.

The move is part of a broader strategy to unite the people of Borno in both spiritual and security efforts to combat terrorism.
