Breaking: Benjamin Kalu emerges Deputy Speaker unopposed

A member representing Bende Federal Constituency in Abia State, Benjamin Okezie Kalu, has emerged as the Deputy Speaker of the 10th House of Representatives.

Kalu was elected unopposed at the 10th National Assembly election held in Abuja on Tuesday, June 13, 2023.

The member Zaria constituency in Kaduna State, Tajudeen Abbas, was earlier elected as the Speaker of the House.

Abbas polled 363 votes to defeat the immediate past Deputy Speaker of the House of Reps, Idris Wase, and Mohammed Joji, who scored 3 votes each.
