Popular Nigerian skit maker and actor, Samuel Perry, better known as Broda Shaggi, has broken his months-long silence, thanking fans for standing by him during his prolonged absence from the public space.

The comedian, who has kept a low profile and stayed away from public appearances, shows and much of his usual social media activity in recent months, said he had been unable to connect with his fans as he would have wanted.

In an emotional message shared on his WhatsApp channel on Friday, Shaggi expressed appreciation to supporters who continued to check on him and show him love despite his absence.

He said their patience and loyalty meant more to him than he could put into words.

“Even when I haven’t been able to show up the way I wanted to, knowing that y’all are still here has meant more than I can put into words,” he said.

Shaggi, however, did not reveal the reason for his prolonged absence, saying he was not yet ready to share his full story.

“I wish I could tell y’all everything right now… but I can’t. Not yet,” he said, adding that he hoped to return soon and reconnect with his fans.

The skit maker also promised to return “better” and “stronger” and make up for the time he has spent away from the entertainment scene.

“And when it does, I promise I’m coming back better, stronger, and ready to make up for all this lost time,” he said.

Shaggi’s message comes months after reports of an alleged shooting incident involving the comedian raised concerns among his fans.

The reported incident was said to have occurred while Shaggi and his crew were filming a comedy skit around the Sango-Ota area of Ogun State.

The Ogun State Police Command had earlier said it could not confirm that the comedian was shot in the state but disclosed that an investigation into the matter had commenced.

The Lagos State Police Command also confirmed at the time that its officers visited a hospital after receiving information about a gunshot victim and found Shaggi receiving treatment for an injury to his thigh.

However, the circumstances surrounding the reported incident remained unclear, while Shaggi and his management did not publicly provide a detailed account of what happened.

His prolonged absence from public events, comedy shows and regular online activities subsequently fueled concern among fans.

With his latest message, Shaggi has now assured his supporters that he has not forgotten them and hopes to return to the entertainment scene soon.

Known for his energetic comic style and distinctive character, Shaggi rose to prominence through social media skits and has become one of Nigeria’s popular comedy entertainers.
