Former President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Mohammed Lawal Uwais.
In a condolence message signed by Buhari’s spokesman, Garba Shehu, praised the late jurist’s exceptional legacy, describing him as a distinguished lawyer and judge who brought justice closer to the people during his tenure as the head of Nigeria’s judiciary.

“He was admired for his compassion and unwavering sense of justice,” Buhari said.
“Justice Uwais made significant contributions to strengthening Nigeria’s democratic foundations and will be remembered by many for his meticulous approach to the law and his service on the Council of States.”
The former president extended his heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and associates of the late Justice Uwais, stating that the nation shares in their grief.
