Buhari, SGF hail Ize-Iyamu at 60

President Muhammadu Buhari has felicitated with the former Chief of Staff and Secretary to the Edo State Government, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, on the occasion of his 60th birthday slated for Tuesday, June 21.

Buhari, in his congratulatory message issued by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, on Monday, said he believes Ize-Iyamu’s visionary leadership style and insight into governance, particularly in placing people first, will continually be relevant.

The statement read: “The President joins members and leaders of All Progressives Congress (APC) in celebrating the party stalwart, who was a gubernatorial candidate, and showed his credentials of maturity, experience, reliability and wisdom, and attracted many votes.

“President Buhari notes Pastor Ize-Iyamu’s pedigree as a minister in church, public servant and politician, with vast experience in governance garnered over many years, commending his courage for always accepting the call to serve his people and the nation.

“As the former Chief of Staff turns 60, the President believes his visionary leadership style, network of friends across the country and insight into governance, particularly in placing people first, will continually be relevant.

“The President prays for the wellbeing of Pastor Ize-Iyamu and his family.”

In his congratulatory message, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, extolled Pastor Ize-Iyamu for his immense contributions in the formation of the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing him as one of the founding fathers of the party.

Mustapha, in the congratulatory issued by his spokesman, Willie Bassey, added that as a “loyal party man”, Ize-Iyamu also served as the vice-chairman of the constitution drafting committee of the APC.

Reminiscing on Ize-Iyamu’s political achievements, the SGF stated that the former APC governorship candidate in Edo State has served as the vice-chairman of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), South-South zone.

Mustapha further described Pastor Ize-Iyamu as “a dedicated party man whose contributions led to the effective coordination of the election management at the just concluded APC presidential primaries where he served as the co-chairman of the election management committee.”

“Above all, Pastor Ize-Iyamu’s contributions in the vineyard of the Lord in which he serves as pastor looking after God’s pastorage, is worthy of emulation,” the SGF added.

He, therefore, wished Pastor Ize-Iyamu “good health and success, as he continues to render valuable service to humanity in all spheres of human endeavour.”
