Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has expressed satisfaction with the quality and pace of work at the Gashua Modern Market.
Buni stated this while inspecting the progress of the market project in Gashua on Monday.
The governor said the project would soon be commissioned, assuring that the stalls and stores will be allocated directly to traders.
“There would be no middlemen between government and the traders in the allocation of the stores,” he added.
Buni, however, urged the would-be beneficiaries to cultivate the culture of maintenance and safety measures.
In his remarks, Alhaji Barman Shettima, the state Commissioner for Commerce and Tourism, said that the market would be handed over to the government in the next few weeks.
“The contractors are now putting finishing touches on the project. They have done a good job and there is value for money in this project,” he added.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Gashua modern market is one of the four being constructed by the present administration in Damaturu, Potiskum, and Nguru local government areas.
