Bills, 2024 Grammy Awards, Burna Boy

President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Patrice Motsepe, has revealed that Nigerian Grammy Award-winning singer, Burna Boy, was briefly delayed by customs officials at a Moroccan airport while travelling to perform at the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Fan Zone concert in Rabat.

Motsepe disclosed this during a recent press conference, explaining that the delay arose after airport officials raised concerns over the musician’s jewellery.

According to him, the issue was resolved following his personal intervention.

“Recently, I was called to intervene because Burna Boy was stopped at the airport after customs officers noticed his heavy and beautiful gold jewellery. I intervened, and the matter was resolved,” Motsepe said.

Burna Boy later went on to headline the TotalEnergies AFCON Fan Zone concert in Rabat on January 16.

The event also featured performances by Ghanaian singer Stonebwoy, as well as Moroccan artistes Stormy and Jaylann.
