Burna Boy gifts Portable N20m for beating Speed Darlington in boxing match

Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Damini Ogulu, widely known as Burna Boy, has given N20 million to his colleague, Habeeb Okikiola, fondly called Portable, following his win in a celebrity boxing match against Speed Darlington.

Portable disclosed this via a post on his Instagram account on Saturday.

“N20 million from Burna Boy. If you wanna be like Odogwu, can you do like Odogwu? God bless your family,” Portable wrote.

The singer has been celebrating his triumph over Speed Darlington, who has claimed that his loss in Saturday’s celebrity match was due to Portable’s alleged use of “juju” (charms).

Portable expressed his joy on Instagram following the Chaos in the Ring event, which was overseen by the Nigeria Boxing Board of Control and took place at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Lagos.

“Champion forever. I believe in those who believe in me. Na God dey run am. Orilomo,” he wrote.

Burna Boy and Speed Darlington have had an ongoing contentious relationship. In 2024, Speed Darlington accused Burna Boy of leveraging a connection with American rapper Diddy to secure his Grammy award.

This accusation led to Speed Darlington’s arrest in relation to defamation and cyberstalking charges against Burna Boy.
