Afrobeats superstar Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has sparked fresh speculation about settling down, following his recent comments and the appearance of a luxury ring on his wedding finger.
In a viral video shared this week, the Grammy-winning artist was seen wearing an all-black outfit and flaunting a massive $2 million ring, which he claimed symbolizes his value and readiness for commitment.
“Show me one female that would have put this ring on my finger,” he said. “This is what my marriage is worth. If you want to marry me, you’re bringing the ring, because I already gave myself one. You have to beat it before I love you and we can have children.”
Burna Boy emphasized that any potential partner must be financially stable and intentional about the relationship. While the singer is known for his bold personality, his recent remarks suggest a more serious outlook on love and family.
During his birthday celebration on July 2, 2025, he joked about growing older and the idea of starting a family. “Na so Jowizaza follow me talk the last time, I come dey think my life. I don dey old oh, I for begin born pikin,” he said.
This isn’t the first time Burna Boy has spoken about family. In a 2024 livestream, he explained that his decision to delay fatherhood was rooted in his desire to offer his children the same love and stability he received from his parents. “I don’t want to have kids yet. Have you seen my mum and dad, the way they love me? I can’t give that to anyone right now with the life I’m living,” he said.
Back in 2020, he shared similar thoughts in a tweet, writing, “Just want to be as good a parent to my children as my parents were and still are to me and my sisters. Until I’m confident that I can be stable and settle with the mother of my kids, I can’t have any kids.”
Now, with his latest comments and symbolic gesture, Burna Boy seems to be inching closer to embracing the idea of marriage and fatherhood.
