Elder statesman and celebrated business tycoon, Aminu Alhassan Dantata, has passed away at the age of 93 after a prolonged illness.
A family source confirmed that Dantata died in the early hours of Saturday.
Born on May 19, 1931, Dantata was a towering figure in Nigeria’s business landscape, with major interests in real estate, petroleum, and finance.
He was equally known for his philanthropic work, particularly in the areas of education and youth empowerment.
In addition to his business ventures, Dantata also served in the Kano State Government and was a member of the Constitution Drafting Committee that prepared Nigeria’s 1979 Constitution.
