Carter Efe jokes about Babcock lawsuit, demands N100,000 ‘ticket’ to appear

Content creator and comedian Carter Efe has reacted to Babcock University’s threat of legal action over a certificate the institution described as fake, joking that he would not show up unless he was paid.

Speaking during a recent livestream, Carter Efe addressed the controversy, saying he had heard the university was looking for him following its public statement.

“I hear say una dey find me. Una no go see me until una pay ₦100,000 ticket for me. Una no go see me,” he said in a humorous tone.

The skit maker also hinted that he would be visiting the university, saying, “We are coming to Babcock soon.”

His comments come days after Babcock University disowned a certificate circulating on social media and allegedly linked to him.

In a statement, the university described the document as fraudulent, stressing that it did not originate from the institution.

Babcock also clarified that it does not issue honorary certificates for undergraduate academic performance and has no degree classification known as “First Class Upper,” noting that its highest undergraduate classification is First Class Honours.

The institution warned that it would pursue appropriate legal and criminal action against anyone found forging its certificates or unlawfully using its name.
