CEVA, EFL launch joint venture to strengthen logistics services in Nigeria

Global logistics provider CEVA Logistics and EFL Africa have launched a joint venture in Nigeria, marking a major step toward strengthening logistics services and connectivity across West Africa.

The new company, CEVA EFL Limited, was unveiled on Monday as part of the two firms’ strategy to expand their footprint in one of Africa’s largest and fastest-growing logistics markets.

The partnership combines EFL Africa’s local expertise and operational presence in Nigeria with CEVA Logistics’ extensive international network spanning more than 170 countries.

According to the companies, the joint venture is designed to provide integrated logistics solutions that will improve trade connectivity between Nigeria, the wider West African region and global markets.

As part of its operations, CEVA EFL will offer a range of logistics and customs services, including dedicated barge operations for moving shipping containers from Lagos ports to Inland Container Depots (ICDs). The companies said the initiative would reduce reliance on road transportation and significantly shorten cargo transit times.

The venture will also leverage a combined ICD infrastructure of about 140,000 square metres across facilities in Ikorodu and Apapa, including an Export Processing Terminal (EPT). In addition, customers will have access to customs clearance services handled by a licensed in-house team.

The companies said the partnership is expected to contribute to Nigeria’s logistics sector through knowledge transfer, improved operational standards and increased investment in logistics infrastructure.

Speaking on the development, Vice President of Finance, India, Middle East and Africa (IMEA) at CEVA Logistics, Sylvain Kluba, described the joint venture as a significant step in connecting Nigeria and West Africa to global markets.

He said the combination of CEVA’s global logistics expertise and EFL’s local knowledge would enable the company to deliver reliable and seamless services while creating new opportunities for businesses operating in the region.

Also speaking, Chief Executive Officer of EFL, Yemi Adunola, said the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to transforming logistics operations in Nigeria and West Africa.

According to him, the partnership will help address challenges within the region’s logistics landscape while delivering efficient and customer-focused solutions that support economic growth.

The launch of CEVA EFL comes as logistics operators increasingly seek innovative solutions to improve cargo movement, reduce congestion and enhance supply chain efficiency across Nigeria and the broader West African market.
