The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Gombe State Command, has deployed 786 officers and men across the state to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free 2025 Christmas and New Year celebrations.
The deployment was announced in a statement issued on Sunday by the Command Public Relations Officer, SC Buhari Sa’ad, who quoted the State Commandant, Commandant Jibrin Idris, as confirming the security arrangement in Gombe.
According to the Commandant, the move underscores the Corps’ commitment to safeguarding lives, property, and critical national assets during the festive period.
He said the operation is in compliance with Operational Order No. 7/2025, which provides for comprehensive security coverage from December 25, 2025, to January 1, 2026.
Commandant Idris disclosed that all Area Commanders, Divisional Officers, Tactical Unit Commanders, and sector heads have been directed to ensure effective and coordinated security operations throughout the state.
He said the officers have been tasked with providing adequate security at churches and other places of worship, protecting residents and visitors, securing critical public and private infrastructure, and maintaining law and order before, during, and after the celebrations.
The NSCDC boss emphasised the importance of collaboration with other security agencies, noting that the Corps is working closely with sister agencies to prevent crime and respond promptly to any security threats.
“The safety of worshippers, residents and visitors remains our top priority.
“We are fully prepared to ensure that Gombe State stays peaceful throughout the festive season,” he assured.
He also called on members of the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with security operatives by reporting any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities.
“Security is a collective responsibility.
“We urge citizens to support our personnel and promptly report any suspicious movements to the nearest security agency,” Idris added.
The Commandant also conveyed Christmas goodwill messages to Christians in the state, wishing them a joyful and peaceful celebration.
