The City Boy Movement (CBM), a support group within the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Thursday, completed its grassroots structures in Lagos State with the inauguration of ward executives for Lagos West I Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general election.

The inauguration, held at Marcelina’s Place in Ikeja, attracted youth leaders, council chairmen, lawmakers and party stakeholders from the 18 local governments and local council development areas (LCDAs) in the district.

Speaking at the event, the State Director-General of the movement and Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, Moyosore Ogunlewe, described the inauguration as the completion of the group’s structures from the state to the ward level.

Ogunlewe said the movement was created by youths to support the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and urged the newly inaugurated executives to mobilise voters, counter misinformation and strengthen the APC at the grassroots.

“Our job is to take the message to the grassroots, counter fake news and mobilise young people to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs). Respect party leaders, remain loyal and work for the success of all APC candidates,” Ogunlewe said.

Lagos West I Coordinator and Chairman of Onigbongbo LCDA, Moyosore Adebanjo, said the movement’s activities were aimed at promoting the achievements of the Tinubu administration.

Adebanjo cited the end of fuel queues and prolonged ASUU strikes as some of the administration’s achievements and urged youths to register for their PVCs ahead of the 2027 elections.

Also speaking, the movement’s Legal Adviser and member representing Oshodi/Isolo Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Ladi Ajomale, charged members to educate Nigerians on the Federal Government’s policies and projects.

Adewale urged ward executives to build structures down to polling units, compile voter data and coordinate grassroots campaigns ahead of the 2027 elections.

Other speakers, including Agege Local Government Chairman AbdulGaniyu Obasa, Ojodu LCDA Chairman David Odunmbaku and Senior Special Assistant to the President on Industry, Training and Development, Adamson Ayinde, called on the new executives to serve as ambassadors of the movement and work towards the victory of APC candidates in 2027.

The State Coordinator of the City Boy Movement, Sesi Whighan, urged members to promote the achievements of the Tinubu administration and strengthen the party across Lagos State.
