Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has presented a ceremonial sword to President Bola Tinubu, urging the number one citizen to intensify his fight against crime, corruption, and insecurity across Nigeria.
The governor said the symbolic presentation was made in recognition of Tinubu’s role as Jagaban, described as a leader of warriors and conquerors, while encouraging him to sustain ongoing efforts to tackle criminality and strengthen governance.
The presentation took place on Monday during a visit to the president to express appreciation for his recent trip to Ogun State, where he commissioned key infrastructure projects, including the Gateway International Airport and Gateway Airlines.
Abiodun, in a statement on Tuesday, said the president’s visit marked a significant milestone in the state’s development, noting that the projects would boost economic growth, investment, and job creation.

He further assured Tinubu of the continued support of the people and government of Ogun State, particularly as preparations for the 2027 general election begin to take shape.
Abiodun wrote on X: “Yesterday, I had the honor and privilege to visit and thank President Bola Tinubu, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic, for the historic visit to Ogun State to commission the Gateway International Airport, Gateway Airlines, welcome the first cargo airline, and other landmark projects.
“I presented him with a ceremonial sword in his esteemed capacity as the Jagaban (leader of warriors/conquerors), urging him to continue his war on crime and criminality, anti-corruption, and particularly as he embarks on the second-term re-election, assuring him that in Ogun State, we are solidly behind him.”
