Coroner summons Naira Marley, Sam Larry, Primeboy over Mohbad’s death

A Lagos coroner court sitting in the Ikorodu area of the state has summoned famous singers, Abdulazeez Fashola, well known as Naira Marley, Owodunni Ibrahim, popularly known as Primeboy, and socialite, Owodunni Eletu, fondly called Sam Larry, over the death of Ilerioluwa Aloba, well known as Mohbad.

The Coroner Magistrate, Adedayo Shotobi, on Friday, October 13, summoned the musicians to appear before the court on October 25, 2023, to shed light on the incident and identify any individuals responsible for the death of Mohbad.

The coroner also ordered the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Panti, to ensure the presence of Naira Marley, Sam Larry, and Primeboy at the next adjourned date of October 25.

The Star had reported that the Lagos State Judiciary, on September 29, commenced a coroner’s inquest into the death of Mohbad to ascertain the cause of his demise.

The Chief Coroner of Lagos State, Justice Mojisola Dada, announced the commencement via a letter dated September 26 and sent to the office of Falana and Falana Chambers.

It was in response to a request by the owner of the chambers and rights activist, Femi Falana (SAN).

Falana had, on September 18, requested a coroner’s inquest into the death of the late musician.

The lawyer made the request following the controversial death of Mohbad on September 12 and his burial the next day.
