The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has announced a series of successful operations across multiple states, resulting in large-scale drug seizures and arrests.
In Anambra State, operatives arrested a couple, Nzube and Ebele Onyedika, during a raid in Obosi where 13.9 kilograms of methamphetamine and 5.3 kilograms of skunk were recovered.
Another suspect, Nnamchi Tochukwu, was also apprehended in the state with quantities of meth, tramadol, swinol, heroin, and skunk.
In Kano, the Agency’s operatives intercepted 100,000 pills of tramadol, 196 litres of akuskura, 34.1 kilograms of skunk, and other harmful substances during multiple raids across the state.
Similarly, in Edo State, NDLEA destroyed a cannabis farm measuring 6.7 hectares.
A total of 16,966 kilograms of skunk were uprooted from the farm, while 1,176 kilograms of processed cannabis were also recovered.
Four suspects were taken into custody during the operation.
In Yobe, a suspect was arrested in Potiskum after operatives recovered 22.1 kilograms of cannabis from his residence.
Meanwhile, in Ogun State, a joint operation with local vigilantes led to the arrest of three trans-border traffickers with 394 kilograms of skunk.
NDLEA Chairman, Brigadier General Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), commended the officers involved in the operations for their dedication and urged them to maintain the momentum in line with the Agency’s “balanced approach” to the War Against Drug Abuse (WADA).
