Court remands two for impersonation, theft in Kano

A Magistrates’ Court in Kano has ordered the remand of two men, Usman Isa and Umar Tijjani, over alleged impersonation, theft, and public disturbance in the Ja’en area of Gwale Local Government.

Usman Isa is accused of posing as a police officer to deceive and exploit residents, while Umar Tijjani faces charges of conspiracy, trespassing, theft, and property damage.

The suspects pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Presiding Magistrate Mustapha Abba Dandago adjourned the case to August 29, 2025, and ordered their remand in a correctional facility pending further hearing.
