Crystal Palace climbed to second place in the Premier League after a dramatic 2-1 victory over Liverpool at Selhurst Park, with Eddie Nketiah scoring a stunning winner in the 97th minute.

Ismaila Sarr’s first-half strike had put Palace in front before Federico Chiesa levelled for Liverpool with just three minutes of normal time remaining. But Chris Richards’ long throw caused chaos in the visitors’ box, allowing Nketiah to pounce at the back post and spark wild celebrations among the home supporters.

The Blues dominated the first half, taking a deserved lead through Enzo Fernandez’s well-placed header.

However, Chalobah’s dismissal early in the second half opened the door for the visitors, who responded with three unanswered goals to seal a remarkable comeback.

Elsewhere, Manchester City cruised to a 5-1 victory over Burnley at the Etihad Stadium. Maxime Esteve endured a nightmare evening with two own goals before Erling Haaland struck twice late on to complete the rout.
