The President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, has released details alleging that the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Farouk Ahmed, spent about $5 million on the secondary education of his children in Switzerland.
Dangote releases the details via a paid newspaper advertisement on Tuesday, December 16, 2025.
The business mogul said the amount covered the schooling of four of Ahmed’s children — Faisal, Farouk Jr., Ashraf and Farhana — over a six-year period.
He listed Montreux School, Aiglon College, Institut Le Rosey, and La Garenne International School as the institutions they attended.

Dangote broke down the costs, estimating annual tuition, travel and upkeep at about $200,000 per child, totalling $800,000 yearly for the four children.
The billionaire businessman said living expenses and air travel over six years amounted to about $1.2 million per child, bringing the total to roughly $4.8 million, which he rounded up to $5 million.
The businessman also cited alleged tertiary education expenses, estimating about $125,000 per year per child, amounting to $2 million over four years for all four children.
He further alleged that one of Ahmed’s children, Faisal, completed an MBA at Harvard University in 2025 at a cost of $210,000.
Dangote, therefore, noted that “Nigerians deserve to know the source (s) of the sums of money paid by a public officer while many parents in his home state of Sokoto cannot afford to pay N10,000 school fees for their children and wards.”
