Dangote Petroleum Refinery has introduced a dedicated hotline for Nigerians to report any MRS Oil Nigeria Plc filling stations selling Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) above the approved pump price of ₦739 per litre.
The refinery said the move is part of its commitment to transparency, affordability and consumer protection in the downstream petroleum sector. The hotline, 0800 123 5264, is now operational nationwide and allows consumers to promptly report price violations across more than 2,000 MRS filling stations.
The initiative follows Dangote Refinery’s recent rollout of nationwide PMS sales at ₦739 per litre, a step aimed at stabilising fuel prices and easing the financial burden on Nigerians, particularly during the festive season.
In a statement, the refinery urged Nigerians to take advantage of the price reduction and avoid buying fuel at inflated rates when locally refined PMS is available at the approved price.
“We encourage Nigerians not to purchase PMS above ₦739 per litre where locally refined fuel is available. Any MRS station selling above this price should be reported via our hotline. Together, we can ensure that the benefits of this price reduction reach consumers nationwide,” the statement said.
Dangote Refinery also reaffirmed its capacity to ensure steady supply, noting that it has a guaranteed daily output of 50 million litres of PMS. It warned against attempts by unscrupulous operators to create artificial scarcity or manipulate supply in response to the price reduction.
The refinery called on regulatory authorities to remain vigilant and take firm action against such practices, describing them as unpatriotic and unacceptable, especially during the festive period.
By refining fuel locally at scale, the company said it is helping to reduce Nigeria’s dependence on imports, conserve foreign exchange, stabilise the naira and strengthen the country’s energy security.
Consumers were further advised to resist purchasing fuel at inflated prices and to report any violations to ensure fair pricing and the full impact of the refinery’s intervention is felt nationwide.
