Davido threatens to seek Trump’s intervention if Osun election is rigged

Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has warned that he would seek the intervention of United States President Donald Trump if the forthcoming Osun State governorship election is allegedly compromised.

Davido made the remarks during a livestream hosted by comedian and content creator Carter Efe, where he spoke about his political ambitions and concerns over Nigeria’s electoral process.

The singer said he would consider venturing into politics if elections were conducted transparently, insisting that he believes he has sufficient popularity and public support to win a free and fair contest.

He alleged that a lack of transparency in Nigeria’s electoral system often affects election outcomes, saying, “Until there’s transparency, then I can go ahead with politics because nobody can beat me in any election.”

On the upcoming Osun governorship election, Davido said he was monitoring developments closely.

“I want to see what they are going to do in Osun. We are waiting,” he said.

The singer further said he would raise the matter internationally if he believed the election was manipulated, including appealing to Trump and other influential figures.

“I’ll tag Trump, I’ll call Trump, everybody. If they still don’t see anything, I’ll go in front of the White House and say, ‘Help us,’” he said.

Davido, who hails from Osun State, ended his remarks with an appeal for the electoral process in the state to be allowed to proceed without interference.

“Leave Osun alone oo, leave it,” he said.
