DCO, detainee killed as gunmen attack police station in Oyo

Gunmen have attacked the Igangan police station in the Ibarapa North Local Government Area of Oyo State.

It was gathered that a Divisional Crime Officer and a suspect who was in detention were killed in the attack which occurred on Tuesday night.

Confirming the incident, the Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso, said the state Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Williams, was on his way to the attacked police station.

Osifeso added that the police had begun investigation into the incident, saying: “Investigation has commenced into the matter. Updates would be provided accordingly.”
