Some delegates, on Sunday, May 25, 2025, disrupted a meeting to discuss the political coalition against the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the Abuja Continental Hotel in Abuja.
The meeting had in attendance former Vice President Atiku Abubakar; the Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Peter Obi; and former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi; among other politicians in the country.
The meeting however took a new turn after the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal, named a delegate to speak for Jigawa State.
This prompted other delegates from Jigawa State to storm the stage and intercept the individual from speaking.

Some delegates gathered around the podium as they shouted in disagreement at one another.
A video circulating on social media showed the altercation as the delegates were seen in heated debates.
It took the intervention of police officers and operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) present to restore normalcy at the meeting.
The security operatives also hurriedly protected the key figures at the meeting.
When the situation was calm, Mustapha Lamido, son of former Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido, and another delegate were chosen to speak on behalf of the state.
