Dogara dumps APC for PDP

A former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Dogara formally joined the PDP at the party’s presidential campaign in Lagos State on Monday.

The latest development is coming barely 24 hours after the former House of Reps Speaker was appointed as a member of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council.

Announcing the development via a statement issued on Sunday, the Director-General of the PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation and Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, said the appointment was with immediate effect.

“This is part of our continuous effect in joining hands with our Presidential Candidate, H.E. Atiku Abubakar, GCON (Waziri Adamawa) to RECOVER our Great Country, Nigeria,” Tambuwal stated.

A group led by Dogara, the Northern Leaders Consultative Forum, had earlier adopted the presidential flag-bearer of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar, as its preferred candidate for the 2023 presidential election.
