A mild drama ensued at the Kano State Government House on Wednesday as the governor of the state, Abdullahi Ganduje, refused to support the former Minister of Transportation and presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Rotimi Amaechi, for 2023 presidency.
Ganduje told Amaechi that Kano State is a swing state which will continue to remain so in an apparent manner.
The governor said: “Kano is always swinging, you will soon know where we are swinging to.”
Amaechi, who recently resigned his ministerial appointment to continue his aspiration for the 2023 presidency, visited Kano on Wednesday as part of his consultations ahead of the APC presidential primary election.
Speaking, the former minister admitted that Ganduje’s loyalty was already known among the aspirants, saying he was in Kano to persuade the governor and other stakeholders to support his candidature.

Ganduje is believed to be a strong ally of the APC national leader, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is also contesting for the presidency.
Amaechi, a former two-term governor of Rivers State, said he remains the best aspirant among the aspirants, adding that he has acquired years of experience across different strata of lead.
“I am more qualified than Tinubu. Tinubu was never a minister. I know where Kano is leaning to but I am here to convince you that I am more qualified than him,” he stated.
