Tragedy struck in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, as a teenager lost her life in a hit-and-run accident at the Muslim Under Bridge area along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway on Saturday, September 13, 2025.
Eyewitnesses disclosed that the incident occurred when the 15-year-old girl attempted to cross the ever-busy expressway from one side of the bridge to the other. In the process, she was struck by a speeding vehicle.
Shockingly, the driver of the vehicle failed to stop and immediately fled the scene, leaving bystanders in panic and grief.
As of the time of this report, the girl’s body still lies by the roadside, with onlookers and residents gathering in shock and sorrow.
An eyewitness, Ibrahim Adebayo, a roadside mechanic in the area, said: “She looked unsure but determined to cross.

“The road was busy as usual. Before we knew it, a car came at high speed and hit her. The driver didn’t even attempt to stop, he just kept going. It was horrible.”
Another witness, Yetunde Balogun, who sells food nearby, said the girl appeared to be a secondary school student.
“She looked very young. Nobody knows her around here, and no one has come to look for her since it happened,” Balogun added.
The Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Adewale Osifeso, has yet to speak on the incident as of press time.
