A former Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Elizabeth Ativie, has renounced her membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Ativie, who was the first female Speaker of the Edo Assembly, made this known at a press conference in Benin, the state capital on Tuesday.
Ativie attributed her decision to unresolved crises bedeviling the party in the Orhionmwon/Uhunmwonde Federal Constituency and the entire state.

She, however, dispelled claims that she left APC because of her failure to secure the ticket for Orhionmwon/Uhunmwonde House of Representatives seat.
She also refused to name the political party she would join after dumping the APC.
Ativie was the Speaker during the administration of the former governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole.
