EFCC arrests 117 internet fraudsters in Lagos

The operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested 117 suspected internet fraudsters in Lagos State.

The suspects were arrested at the Regional Hotel in the Iyana-Ishasi area of Lagos on Thursday, June 27, 2024.

The EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, in a statement, said the suspected internet fraudsters were arrested in a sting operation, following verified intelligence about their alleged involvement in computer-related fraud.

EFCC chair orders officers’ arrest for assaulting Lagos hotel official

Oyewale listed items recovered from the suspects to include mobile phones, laptop computers, and four cars.

“They will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded,” he added.
