The operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission have arrested one Mohammed Sani Mohammed, an alleged fraudster who has been posing as an officer of the EFCC in Kano State.
Mohammed was said to have been defrauding victims on the pretext that he could help them procure soft landing regarding their cases with the EFCC.
Confirming the arrest via a statement issued on Wednesday, June 14, the EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, said the suspect was arrested after weeks of surveillance on Wednesday.

Uwujaren noted that investigation revealed that the suspect obtained the sum of N4.6 million.
“It was discovered that, apart from impersonating EFCC officials, the suspect has severally impersonated personnel of the military and other security services,” he added.
The EFCC spokesperson stated that the suspect will be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
