The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has deployed operatives across the six area councils of the Federal Capital Territory to monitor the February 21, 2026, council elections.
The move is part of efforts to safeguard electoral integrity and curb voter inducement during the polls.
Executive Chairman of the commission, Ola Olukoyede, directed officers to maintain strict surveillance across all council areas and prevent incidents of vote buying and other electoral malpractices.
According to the commission, operatives have been positioned throughout the FCT to support a transparent electoral process and ensure accountability in the conduct of the elections.
