No fewer than 37 suspected internet fraudsters have been arrested by the operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Warri, Delta State, and Owerri, the capital of Imo State.
The EFCC disclosed this in a statement issued on Saturday, saying the suspected internet fraudsters were apprehended on Friday, September 19, 2025.
The anti-graft agency revealed that the suspects were arrested for their alleged involvement in internet and cryptocurrency fraud following credible intelligence about their activities.
The commission stated that the suspected fraudsters were apprehended while operating various brands of internet-enabled devices to defraud their victims.

The EFCC noted that the suspected kingpin of the fraudsters, Robert Ebuka Chukwuedo, took to his heels to evade arrest in Warri.
The EFCC said some of Chukwuedo’s accomplices were arrested in his mansion.
“They were all allegedly involved in cryptocurrency scam, money laundering, and other internet-related crimes,” the commission disclosed.
The anti-graft agency listed items recovered from the suspected internet fraudsters to include exotic cars, smartphones, laptops, and fetish items, adding that the suspects will be charged to court.
